80% of Colombians are willing to invest in cryptocurrencies

A study conducted by the Colombian company Paxful together with Toluna Insights showed that 86.5% of Colombian residents know what cryptocurrencies are, and more than 80% are willing to invest in them.

Paxful is an electronic market with payment in bitcoins, so it is not surprising that most of its customers are familiar with digital currencies. It is reported that more than half of the respondents aged 25 to 40 years have already dealt with cryptocurrencies and invested in them.

At the same time, bitcoin turned out to be the most popular – 79% of respondents invested in it. Colombian residents also invest in Bytecoin (more than 5%) and ether (less than 3%). In addition, the study showed that 59% of respondents are interested in cryptocurrencies and plan to improve their knowledge in this area.

“The increase in the use of digital currencies is most likely due to the fact that the new generation is closely communicating with each other via the Internet. They are constantly looking for new opportunities that allow not only constant access to their assets, but also give freedom to conduct transactions around the world, ”the researchers emphasized.

According to the results of the study, 86% of respondents believe that special regulations are needed in Colombia to regulate the cryptocurrency industry. At the same time, 91% of respondents said that cryptocurrencies will determine the future of world trade, and 20% consider digital assets an alternative to traditional finance.
