A test of cheap USB-C Baseus Simple Wisdom cables

Wires are one of those things we only think about when we forgot or need them. It is not easy in the current world and although not all the gadgets that surround us have a USB-C port, a solid cable with such a “tip” is one of the most useful at the moment. So how can we fail to appreciate two such versatile cables with good specifications at hand? This is what we will ensure by reaching for the Baseus Simple Wisdom cables.

What can Baseus Simple Wisdom cables with USB-3C connectors do?

Today we look at a set of two wires with the official name Baseus Simple Wisdom Data Cable Kit Usb-A to Type-C. These are, in short, two higher-class twin cables with a decent length of 150 centimeters (50 cm less than most mouse or keyboard cables can offer), terminated on one side with a USB-A port, and on the other with a USB-C port. The matter is simple here – in most cases, USB-C is connected to the smartphone, and USB-A to the charger or computer.

In the case of these cables, Baseus took care not only of solid internal wiring under a rubber cover for charging, but also file transfer. Not bad for the price of only PLN 20/22, i.e. about PLN 10 for one cable. This includes charging with 5 amps and transferring files up to 480 Mb / s, which is equivalent to the level of USB-A 2.0 capabilities. It is not impressive, but the compatibility with the Huawei Super Charge or Quick Charge 3.0 standards (up to 40W) clearly shows that the charging options are the most important for them.

Both cables are delivered to us in a simple cardboard package, where, next to the warranty card and the instruction manual, they are safely stored in foil and plastic cases to finally hit our handles. Although they are white on the render, the gray color resembles a more characteristic shade of the strands. This is confirmed by the addition of a simple Velcro band, which makes the manufacturer’s name beats with white and silver embossing.

The fact that these cables are made, contrary to appearances (their simplicity), does not suggest a low shelf. Their weight indicates the use of actually thicker inner conductors, which fortunately retain the high flexibility of the rubber sheath. Many people will probably be pleased with the fact that the covers are embedded deep into the jackets of the plugs, which makes it more difficult to break the main insulation. The purple connectors also make a solid impression, and as far as I’m concerned, the durability of Baseus cables can be confirmed by the equivalent of the tested cables, which have been used every day for over a year. Although its material cover is a bit frayed and the looseness on the plugs is already noticeable, it still performs flawlessly.

The manufacturer states that these cables have a built-in control system that “detects the parameters of the device and adjusts its power to it” and has been improved with seven levels of protection, because against overcharging, discharge, overvoltage, overheating, overcurrent, short circuit and electromagnetic field.
