The indications of the Italian government to limit the spread of Coronavirus are clear: you have to leave the house as little as possible. It is not an easy time and it is clear that people need to relax a bit and find alternative solutions at work and school level.
For this reason, the MID (Minister for technological innovation and digitalization) and AgID (Agency for digital Italy) have launched theDigital Solidarity initiative, designed to provide free digital services to all Italians. Put simply, companies that want to help citizens in this situation can come forward. Several companies have already joined: let's see together the list of services made available.
Information and entertainment
• La Stampa three-month subscription. You must be registered in the SPID system, or the Public Digital Identity System (consult the official website of Digital Solidarity for information on services that require this method of authentication);
• A free e-book from Mondadori, to choose between fiction, non-fiction, miscellaneous and children's books. SPID is required;
• Three-month subscription La Repubblica. SPID is required;
• Three-month subscription to Il Mattino di Padova. SPID is required;
• Free subscriptions for three months to the Mondadori group magazines. Access via email;
• Amazon Prime Video free until March 31, 2020. Activation is automatic by accessing the service from the official website or by downloading the appropriate application.
• Infinity free for two months. You need to register via the official website (at the moment it does not appear on the Digital Solidarity website, but this possibility was announced a few days ago).
Connectivity and services
TIM: 100 Giga free for 30 days to PA and business users (regardless of the area). The telephone operator will send an SMS to the interested users;
• Wind Tre: 100 Giga additional for all customers who will be contacted via SMS;
• Free smart working services for companies and professionals: Webex (Connexia), Microsoft, Cisco Webex Meetings (for all the details on activation, consult the website of the Digital Solidarity initiative);
• TIM: for 60 municipalities in the province of Lodi and 23 municipalities in Padua, free Giga or voice traffic to landline and mobile numbers until March 27th. The users involved will be contacted via SMS. TIMVISION content can also be accessed via the official website;
TIM: WeSchool service for e-learning. An official guide has been prepared;
• Aeolus: one month of free Internet connectivity. Activation is automatic;
• Fastweb brings up to 50 Giga the rechargeable SIM data package. Activation is automatic;
• Free 1GB PEC Mail free for one year. Activated from 9 to 30 March 2020 via the official website;
• Vodafone eliminates the limit of minutes, SMS and Giga in the red areas. Activation is automatic;
• Amazon offers for free training webinar. All the details to participate are on the official website of the Digital Solidarity initiative;
• Amazon Web Services offers credit package for PA assistance. For membership, consult the official website of the Digital Solidarity initiative.
