Despite the concerns related to Coronavirus, which have already canceled or postponed several tech events, companies in the smartphone world are continuing to announce their devices. Just think of the direct Sony on February 24, in which the new smartphones of the Xperia range were presented. The March 6, 2020 instead it will be the turn of OPPO and its family of Find X2 devices.
The last few weeks have certainly not left us speechless in terms of noise and leak: the information that emerged covers almost every aspect of the devices. On the other hand, the original Find X had been received positively by critics and therefore the attention of fans is high. A few days after the event, it is therefore good to do a little "review" on what has been leaked online.
The alleged data sheet of OPPO Find X2
Starting from the technical characteristics, you must know that the alleged OPPO Find X2 components have been published several times online and all the sources seem to agree. The leaks describe the presence of a 6.7-inch curved OLED screen with QHD + resolution (3168 x 1440 pixels), 120 Hz refresh rate, hole for the camera and contrast of 5,000,000: 1. The panel should be manufactured by Samsung and a unit with high overall visual quality is expected, designed with the needs of multimedia content lovers in mind.
The high refresh rate, on the other hand, will have a strong impact in terms of system fluidity and gaming. It also appears that the screen is unable to work at 120 Hz with QHD + resolution. This would be an interesting result, given that so far devices like S20 Ultra can take advantage of this refresh rate only by stopping at Full HD. There may also be a touch-sampling rate of 240 Hz.
Another field in which the Chinese company seems to want to focus is the photographic sector. There are rumors of three sensors in the Pro variant: a 48MP Sony IMX689 (main), a 48MP Sony IMX586 (wide angle) and a 13MP Samsung S5K3M5 (periscope lens, 5x hybrid zoom).
The spearhead here is the main lens: the IMX689 sensor, not yet announced, would be the latest addition to Sony and would guarantee high-level shots. The front camera would instead be 32MP. The interesting specifications did not end there: under the body there should be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G octa-core processor operating at the maximum frequency of 2.84 GHz, flanked by an Adreno 650 GPU.
The leaks also revealed the existence of two models of the device: OPPO Find X2 and OPPO Find X2 Pro. The differences between the two variants would mainly be found in the RAM memory, 8GB LPDDR4 in the "basic" model and 12GB LPDDR5 in the Pro one, and in the photographic sector. The latter should have different sensors depending on the model (triple 13MP + 12MP + 48MP camera for the less expensive variant). The internal memory cuts would be at least 256GB UFS 3.0, but there is still little information and therefore we can not unbalance ourselves.
Small differences also in the battery, which would be from 4200 mAh on Find X2 and from 4260 mAh on Find X2 Pro. Support for Super VOOC 2.0 charging at 65W should not be missing. It also appears that the display resolution of the "basic" variant may be lower than the QHD +.
OPPO Find X2 could also have the IP54 certification, while the Pro variant would have the IP68. However, 5G connectivity seems to be confirmed for both devices, as well as the presence of NFC.
In short, the Chinese company could soon announce some interesting top of the range. There are still not many details regarding availability and price, but we can imagine that the OPPO Find X2 range will not be cheap. In our view, we can expect a price that exceeds 1000 euros. We'll see: in the meantime, the images that emerged online, or the ones you can see with the article, seem to show a pretty good design. We just have to wait a few days to find out more: March 6, 2020 is not that far!
