Amazon Service Issues Crashed Large Cryptocurrency Exchanges

On Friday, problems at Amazon AWS, a popular cloud computing service, led to interruptions in several large cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance and KuCoin.

“AWS is having problems, mainly with caching services, which can affect users around the world. We work with Amazon and constantly monitor the situation. Users get 500 errors when working with the API and there are problems with the withdrawal of funds, ”- wrote Binance Exchange CEO Changpeng Zhao on Twitter.

KuCoin also reported problems with AWS services hosted in Tokyo.

“Due to the overheating of servers hosted in the AWS data center in Tokyo, some of our services may not be available. A team of engineers is already working on the deployment of additional high-availability capacities in various regions to resolve similar situations in the future. Perhaps, during the placement process, some services may be affected, ”the exchange’s website reports.

Primitive Ventures partner Dovey Wan said that a significant number of Asian exchanges have crashed. For example, one of the users of an unnamed exchange was able to buy 45 bitcoins for less than $ 1. A similar situation happened at the CITEX site.

Note that in April at the BitMEX site many users suffered due to technical problems associated with the automatic closure of risky market positions. However, the platform management said that it would compensate users for all losses.
