That is why there is no concept of “multi-core processor” in relation to solutions, the company switched to multi-module solutions.
The history of “hybrid” processors began back in 2006, thanks to the purchase by Advanced Micro Devices, the video giant ATI, it was then that the first concept of AMD Fusion was presented, but the processors themselves came out much later, because. during development, there were certain problems with the release of chips.
The first generation with the placement of graphics and CPU cores on the same substrate was released in 2011 under the name Liano. The technology consisted of the core of a discrete video card and CPU cores, the address space of RAM was divided separately for the computational tasks of graphics and processor cores, at that time it was the only technology that has no alternative solutions from competitors. The advantages of this implementation are obvious. On the one hand, low power consumption, on the other hand, the high performance of the discrete video core, which has no analogues among competitors. But there are also disadvantages in this approach, they relate to delays (latency) between the processor cores and the video adapter due to the different address space of RAM used.
New generation of family processors A10 works on a new principle, instead of separate cores, separate modules began to be used. The company completely abandoned the concept of multi-core processors, starting to use the Steamroller multi-module architecture, modified for parallel computing and the latest generation of graphics cores GCN (Graphics Core Next). They are also installed in the current lines of discrete video adapters of the R7 / R9 family, which allows, if desired, the use of AMD Dual Graphics technology (the list of compatible video adapters is available on the processor manufacturer’s website). In addition, the memory address space is no longer shared and is used simultaneously by processor and integrated video cores, which greatly simplifies work in high-level programming languages and models such as OpenCL, C ++, Phyton, Java and others. The results of the above innovations will be visible only after a certain time, because. the advantages of the architecture should be appreciated by the software developers.

At standard frequencies, the processor passed the test without any problems, but when overclocked to 4.4 GHz, after reaching a temperature of 62 degrees at High settings, it went into a cycle and showed a blue screen. Conclusion: the standard cooling system supplied in the box configuration of the product is not able to show good overclocking performance. But applicable to the test, it is clearly seen that the processor has an extremely low heat pack and does not require expensive cooling systems.

However, overclocking does not bring a noticeable increase in frame rate, although it slightly changes the performance for the better.
Battlefield 4
The fourth part of the popular multiplayer game from EA and Dice showed excellent ratings, apparently due to cooperation with AMD, this result was obtained with a network packet sending rate (Ping) of approximately 130ms, with a decrease in this parameter, an increase in frames per second is possible. Raising the frequency also does not lead to a noticeable increase in the number of FPS.
Metro Last Light
In the popular shooter from 4A Games, you can immediately see the dependence of the performance and performance of the A10-7850K with different clock speeds. At high graphics settings and with a screen resolution of 1920×1080, the integrated video core and processor performance showed a decent result. Testing at a lower resolution was not carried out due to high performance.
Thief
Developed by Eidos Montreal in 2014, the popular multi-platform game shows low, but quite acceptable results. It is worth considering the use of AMD’s development, Mantle, which has no analogues among competitors.
However, overclocking also does not add tangible performance, although at settings below “normal” the gameplay is quite good without any significant changes in picture quality.
Conclusion
AMD has released a rather promising architecture, the advantages of which are already visible today. Despite the mediocre results in synthetic tests, quite good performance in gaming applications is visible, which allows not very demanding users to opt for this line of processors. But do not forget, the integrated video card requires more expensive memory with a high frequency.
The processor on the bench motherboard, after raising the frequency, could not pass a series of tests. These include PC Mark and X.264. Stock cooling does not cope well with increasing the frequency of the tested instance, so when installing this processor, we recommend using a more efficient cooling system, even despite the rather low heat pack.
Pros – Advantages

- For comfortable operation, more expensive memory with a high frequency is required.
