AMD accepts a former (already) Intel employee

Transfers straight from football clubs. This time, Marin Ashton, who recently held one of the positions at Intel, joined AMD.

Recently, a lot has been written about the employees that both AMD and Intel take on board. Interestingly, most of them are familiar and brilliant in the graphics segment, so we can think that Nvidia will finally get a worthy competitor. Over the next few years, at least. This is how Intel welcomed two icons of AMD into its ranks – Raje Koduri, Tom Forsyth and Chris Hook, while AMD welcomed David Wang (manager of the Radeon Technologies Group) to its facility. Now, Martin Ashton will join the RTG team. It’s the gentleman on the left.

Obviously, this is an important person with a great deal of experience. I am talking about 26 years of work at Imagination Technologies at PowerVR and almost two years of employment with “blue people”. There he played the role (note) of the vice president, chief engineer, hardware director, co-editor of architecture … and a few more that cannot be translated into our language. What exactly will he be working on at Radeon Technologies Group? It is not known.
