AMD announces its Ryzen 7000 processors with Zen4 architecture that will reach 5.5 GHz in games

AMD announced today the line of Ryzen 7000 processorsin his presentation of Computex, these new CPUs based on the Zen 4 architecture will be released later this year, between September and November. In the presentation we had the company president, Dr Lisa Suwho showed many new features of the new CPUs, including the ability to exceed the speed of 5.5 GHz.

Lisa Su confirmed what we already knew, we hardly have much news as the new processors will use socket AM5 instead of the current AM4. Until now, the entire line of Ryzen CPUs was using the AM4 socket, so anyone who wants to use Ryzen 7000 CPUs will need to get a new motherboard with the AM5 standard. Motherboard manufacturers have already started announcing the new models during Computex.

The Ryzen 7000 will be manufactured using a 5nm process, being the first PC processors to use this lithography. AMD’s new AM5 platform will be the company’s first for consumers to support DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 memory.

To demonstrate the processing power of the new Ryzen 7000 platform, a Ghostwire: Tokyo gameplay was shown, where the game ran with a CPU running at 5.5 GHz, more specifically 5520.3 MHz.

AMD assured that the Ryzen 7000 are 30 percent faster than the Intel Core i9 12900Kwhere they show this with a Blender multi-threaded render test.

The Zen 4 generation will offer 15% higher performance compared to Zen 3 in single thread, and will also support up to 170W of power with the arrival of the new motherboards. The new processors will be compatible with motherboards from the B650, X670 and X670E line.

The processor will have integrated RDNA 2 graphics and also DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 controllers.
