AMD partners may soon release the first based motherboards B550 chipset, mid-range solution designed for Ryzen desktop (AM4) processors and in particular for i Ryzen 3rd gen announces at Computex 2019. After the latest rumors leaked last September, we had no further updates in this regard and for some reason AMD took further time to release the new platform, a solution we remember very much awaited in the consumer segment especially due to the current cost of motherboards based on AMD X570 chipsets.
In this regard, the portal videocardz publish the first image of a motherboard based on B550 chipset, to be precise, a model produced by the Chinese SOYO.
In this case we are obviously faced with an economic product, basically though the B550 chipset will offer performance in line with its predecessor, Except for PCI-E 4.0 support which will be complete and not limited to the first PCI-E slot (connected to a "Ryzen 3000" CPU), as is the case for some models of B450 motherboards with updated BIOS.
At present AMD has not yet confirmed the launch date of the B550 chipset and the related custom proposals of the partners, however, it seems beyond doubt that the chipset exists and is already in the hands of the manufacturers; we look forward to updates especially given the current one Coronavirus-related situation which impacted heavily on the Asian production chain and consequently on hardware manufacturers.
