AMD hypers the Radeon 300 series in video clips

Anyone who follows the news flow can not avoid the fact that AMD will soon introduce a new generation of graphics cards. Ahead of the upcoming Radeon 300 series, AMD is taking the opportunity to screw up expectations by uploading a short video clip depicting an as yet unknown model from the Pirate Islands family.

The new Radeon 300 series mostly consists of older graphics processors in a new form. Enthusiasts and performance hunters, on the other hand, can look forward to the all-new Fiji, which is also the first out with High Bandwidth Memory or stacked memories, which will provide hitherto unmatched memory bandwidth.

According to SweClocker’s sources, the Fiji graphics processor is used in at least two new models. The most expensive variant contains the complete version of the circuit and is only delivered in a reference design with closed water cooling, which was developed by AMD in collaboration with Asetek.

A scaled-down variant of the same circuit is also used in a similar graphics card intended for a slightly lower price range. The reference design stops at traditional air cooling, but in this case it is up to the partner manufacturers to develop their own models with, for example, self-designed circuit boards and tailor-made cooling solutions.

The launch of the new Radeon 300 series will take place at the beginning of next week at the Computex Taipei trade fair, which starts on 1 June.
