AMD promises new Radeon in the first half of 2013

Processor and graphics company AMD ended 2012 with a crash loss of $ 473 million. AMD’s CEO Rory Read predicts tough times even at the beginning of the new year and now puts the hope in new circles, both on the APU and graphics front.

We are introducing strong new APU and graphics offerings in the first half of 2013 that will accelerate our AMD business with the ultimate goal of returning AMD to profitability and positive free cash flow in the second half of this year

In connection with the presentation of the latest quarterly report, Rory Read reveals that AMD plans to update the Radeon series in the first half of 2013. The next generation Radeon goes by the code name Sea Islands and contains the second generation of the architecture Graphics Core Next. An introduction in the first half of 2013 may mean that the graphics cards appear in connection with the Cebit trade fair in March or Computex in June.

The Never Settle campaign is followed up and expanded

AMD also plans to spin on the Never Settle campaign in 2013. As before, it is about games “for free” with the top models in the Radeon series. Rory Read promises that “some of the most anticipated game titles” will be included in the campaign and wants to arouse consumers’ desire to upgrade.
