AMD Radeon 680M Integrated Graphics Review AMD Radeon 660M
: -Take a look at Specs, Hashrate, CPU performance, configuration, benchmark and also a testing of this video card. We will go into more details as it regards to the testing in the article below.

The AMD Radeon 680M and AMD Radeon 660M are the highly anticipated top-end RDNA2-based integrated graphics processors in the AMD Ryzen 6000 Rembrandt generation. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the benchmark performance of the latest in-processor iGPUs, as well as their gaming capabilities. We’ll also compare the AMD Radeon 680M and AMD Radeon 660M with several other similar GPU solutions, including Vega 8 based iGPUs, Iris Xe iGPUs in Intel 12th gen Alder Lake and 11th gen Tiger Lake platforms.

AMD Radeon 660M and 680M are integrated solutions in the Ryzen 6000 APUs for portable devices and, in the future, desktop solutions. Offering a much newer architecture than Vega, which has been used for almost all previous Ryzen mobile processors, RDNA2 offers not only better performance, but also support for ray tracing. So Radeon 680M and Radeon 660M have 12 and 6 compute units, respectively. Radeon 660M has 384 stream processors and runs at 1900 MHz, while AMD Radeon 680M has 768 stream processors at 2200 MHz. If we compare the new features in terms of performance with the built-in of the previous generation Radeon Vega 8, then in Vega 8 we get 512 stream processors and a frequency of up to 2000 MHz. In terms of processing power (FP32), the Vega 8 outperforms the AMD Radeon 660M with 2.05 TFLOPs vs. 1.45 TFLOPs and lags behind the AMD Radeon 680M with 3.68 TFLOPs.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art 6nm process and thoughtful power-saving features, the power consumption of the AMD Radeon 660M and 680M is relatively low (according to AMD), so the processors that include these graphics cards can be used in thin and light laptops.

Testing in games

The performance of the RTX 3060 is sufficient to ensure high performance in all games at the maximum graphics quality settings in Full HD resolution. On average, in the games we tested, FPS stayed at 50-60 frames at maximum post-processing settings, except for METRO EXODUS. But even here we see 34 FPS and a playable 47 FPS at medium settings.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt offers a non-linear, mature, action-packed story and an unparalleled non-QTE combat system that combines a wide range of RPG tactical elements with fast-paced and spectacular combat worthy of the best action games. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was developed on the REDengine 3 game engine, which was aimed at current generation consoles and PC. The first part of The Witcher was based on the Aurora Engine technology, a game engine developed by the Canadian company BioWare and first used in the computer role-playing game Neverwinter Nights, which was released on June 18, 2002. The technology uses HDR rendering with 64-bit depth, which produces the highest image quality with more realistic and reliable lighting without loss of detail. Flexible rendering ready for delayed or advanced rendering has a wide range of cinematic post-effects, including depth-of-field bokeh, color grading, and flares from light sources. The high-quality terrain allows for multiple layers of materials that blend seamlessly together and uses tassellation to achieve the maximum amount of detail. The technology also includes seamless linking of animation and physics and a number of other features. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the most technologically advanced open world RPG to date. The game pleases the eye with its beautiful world and atmosphere, forcing you to completely immerse yourself in the gameplay, forgetting about all the other problems that are happening around.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Shadow of the Tomb Raider takes place after the events depicted in RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER. This time, Miss Croft travels to Latin America, where she travels through the ruins of an ancient civilization (including the Mayan and Aztec pyramids), discovers the mysteries of the Trinity Order, and learns more about her father’s research. The story is more mature than previous games. To portray Lara as a more advanced adventurer, the developers intended to have her face the consequences of the decisions she made. For Rise of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider uses a new game engine called the Foundation Engine. Shadow of the Tomb Raider includes improved subsurface scattering on Lara, volumetric lighting, and beams of light through foliage. Also, the new game uses advanced anti-aliasing – TAA, instead of SMAA. In addition, the effects of water have improved and the waves from the movement now have a three-dimensional shape, and in general the interaction with water is better. Tessellation is present in both games, but is used for different purposes.

Conclusion

In general, we note that the performance of the new generation AMD Radeon integrated graphics is quite enough for games of the past at 1080p resolution and not high graphics settings. But, in fairness, we note that in this case, powerful Ryzen 9 6900HS and Ryzen 7 6800H processors were tested, which are used mainly in gaming laptops that are already equipped with a discrete graphics card. But the Ryzen 7 6800U chip, which will be used in thin laptops, also has Radeon 680M graphics. And in this segment, a powerful “embedding” will be extremely useful. Interestingly, the Radeon 680M failed to catch up with the discrete graphics card for Nvidia GTX 1650 Max-Q laptops, although the manufacturer hinted that the new RDNA2 architecture could compete with this video card, but as can be seen from the Radeon 680M tests, it has not yet succeeded.
