AMD Radeon HD 8850M video card review :Test | Specs | CPU | Config

AMD Radeon HD 8850M video card review
: -If you are looking for information relating to the Specs, Hashrate, CPU performance, configuration, benchmark and also a testing of this SSD Drive. We will go into more details as it regards to the testing in the article below.

The graphics card for notebooks AMD Radeon HD 8850M is built in compliance with the norms of the 28-nanometer process technology, its basis is the GCN (Graphics Core Next) architecture. According to AMD, the new mobile accelerator will be used with Intel processors and AMD Trinity chips. As you know, the latter have quite powerful integrated graphics. Unfortunately, it will not work to combine the efforts of a discrete video card and an integrated GPU, since they are based on different graphic architectures – Trinity APUs use the VLIW4 structure, and GCN is already used for the Radeon HD 8000M.

It’s also worth noting that the AMD Radeon HD 8870M fully supports DirectX 11.1 and Shader 5.1 APIs. The technical characteristics of the new video adapter largely coincide with the characteristics of the predecessor AMD Radeon HD 7850M, the difference is only in the frequencies of the core, shader unit and the speed of its own memory. Compared to the Radeon HD 7850M, the HD 8850M has faster memory speeds with a slightly lower core clock speed. The number of threads for both video cards is 640 shaders. If we talk about the performance of the AMD Radeon HD 8850M, then according to the tests it will be slightly higher than the video card of the competitor Nvidia GeForce GT 755M. The 8850M video card is capable of decoding MPEG-4 AVC / H.264, VC-1, MPEG-2, Flash, Multi-View Codec (MVC) and MPEG-4 part 2 (DivX, xVid) HD video formats thanks to the UVD3 video engine. The built-in HD audio processor allows high quality audio (TrueHD or DTS Master Audio) to be transmitted through HDMI and DisplayPort ports (for example, for Blu-ray video). Plus, it’s now possible to output audio from multiple devices simultaneously thanks to the new Discrete Digital Multipoint Audio (DDMA) feature.

Supported technologies

you PowerTune – a calculator that calculates the power consumption of the card in real time at intervals of milliseconds based on the analysis of the task being performed (without any analog sensors). And if possible, the GPU clock speed increases. Note that this is not a reset of the frequency relative to the nominal when the power threshold is reached, but, on the contrary, a precisely verified dynamic acceleration.

you CrossFireX – a technology that allows you to simultaneously use the power of two or more (up to four graphics processors at the same time) Radeon video cards to build a three-dimensional image. Each of the video cards, using a certain algorithm, forms its own part of the image, which is transferred to the Composing Engine chip of the master card, which has its own buffer memory. This chip combines the images of each video card and outputs the final frame.

ATI PowerPlay Is a dynamic power management technology used in some graphics processing units (GPUs) manufactured by AMD (formerly ATI). The principle of operation is based on tracking the GPU load, determining the optimal parameters and correspondingly changing the clock frequency of the chip, memory and supply voltage, thereby optimizing the power consumption and heat dissipation of the video card. The technology in idle modes can disable unused GPU blocks.

ATI Eyefinity — a technology developed by the American company AMD that allows multiple displays to be connected together to a personal computer. ATI Eyefinity assumes connection from one to six displays inclusive to one graphics card. Desktop duplication and stretching modes are supported across multiple monitors, and a special new feature allows displays to be grouped into one large screen that can display a PC desktop or, for example, video, as well as windowed or full-screen 3D applications.

AMD HD3DThe technology is supported by an extended and open ecosystem that, when combined with specific AMD hardware and software technologies, enables the 3D viewing of many applications and processes on the PC.

AMD Enduro Automatically disables AMD Radeon discrete graphics for lightweight applications and extends battery life.

AMD Zero Core In a deep idle state, the new GPU consumes less than 5% of the power of full-fledged mode, disabling most of the functional blocks in this mode.
