After being absent from the enthusiast segment in the graphics card market for a long time, AMD returned in mid-2017 with its new Vega architecture. It was then used in the Radeon RX Vega 56 and Radeon RX Vega 64, but since then it has been quiet when it comes to graphics cards for gaming.
During CES 2019, AMD will unveil the next generation of graphics cards from the company, which will be named Radeon VII (7). The graphics circuit used is Vega 20, which will be the world’s first to be manufactured with 7-nanometer technology, and AMD promises up to 25 percent more performance at the same power level compared to Vega 10.

In terms of specifications, 3,840 stream processors up to 1.8 GHz and 16 GB HBM2 memory over a 4,096-bit memory bus are mentioned, for a bandwidth of 1 TB / s. According to AMD, the Radeon VII is built from the ground up for gaming in 4K resolution with high settings and frame rate. Among other things, up to 35 percent better performance is mentioned in Battlefield V, compared to the current Radeon RX Vega 64.
During the event, the graphics card will be demonstrated in the upcoming Devil May Cry 5, which is running in 4K resolution. In the game title, the Radeon VII achieves between 70 and 110 FPS with the highest settings. According to AMD, the Radeon VII will match the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 when it comes to performance, where Battlefield V and Far Cry 5 are mentioned as examples.
