AMD Renoir APU, the possible configurations of the integrated graphics

A Reddit user appears to have discovered the GPU technical specifications integrated into AMD Renoir APUs next generation. These details were “hidden” in the AMD Bootcamp drivers of December 2019. An unusual place, which could suggest future MacBooks with AMD APU, but we'll see.

Renoir solutions should be architecture based Zen 2 and produced at 7 nanometers by TSMC. As for graphics, previous Linux patches seem to imply that Renoir will continue to use Vega solutions, so Navi may not debut in the APUs of this generation.

The new information indicates that AMD would have numerous Renoir chips in the pipeline for both the mobile and desktop markets. The drivers report a total of 28 Renoir APUs, 14 for each segment. As usual, there will be both “normal” and Pro APUs.

Desktop APUs should have a TDP of 65 and 35 W. Six 65 W and eight 35 W Renoir APUs are listed. 65 W models should be 6/8/9/10/10 CU, while the models from 35 W “only” 3/4/6/8/10 CU.

In the mobile segment, AMD could release six 45W and eight 15W versions. The 45W chips are expected to integrate 8/9/10/11/12/13 CU. The 15 W models instead should count, in addition to these configurations, also a version with 6 CU.
