AMD reveals that ya is certifying 1080p at 480Hz, 8K at 120Hz monitors

During its CES 2022 conference, AMD not only made several hardware announcements like its Ryzen 6000, AM5 platform, and RX 6500 XT, but also talked about its various technologies and certifications, including FreeSync. There he mentioned a curious detail about the future monitors that we will see throughout the year, revealing that they are already certifying 480Hz monitors, which would once again raise the bar against current monitors that reach 360Hz.

In addition to these 480Hz refresh rate monitors, possibly with 1080p resolution, AMD also confirmed that it is certifying 120Hz 8K monitors and working with Samsung to certify their QD OLED display monitors with FreeSync Premium Pro, so there is a wide variety of monitors.

Unfortunately, AMD did not give details on when we could see these new monitors, although we estimate that we could have news at the end of May during Computex, which is the other big date for hardware announcements. Possibly around said date we will also have news about the new 1440p@360Hz monitors announced by Nvidia a few days ago, so there will be quite a lot of news in the area of monitors this year.

What do you think about the launch of these future 480Hz monitors? Would you like to have something like that or do you prefer another alternative like 1440p@240Hz?
