AMD shows RX 6000 Raytracing in WoW: Shadowlands

AMD is working together with Blizzard to offer graphical improvements in the next release of World of Warcraft: ShadowlandsIn the AMD Showcase we have seen a series of graphical improvements have been added thanks to the new functions of DirectX 12 Ultimate. Among these improvements are the Variable Speed Shading (VRS), Ray Traced Shadows (DXR) and Ambient Occlusion by FidelitiyFX. All these new features will save your graphics card time and increase in-game performance by getting better and faster images.

With the new RX6000 cards it is possible to add DXR ray tracing, offering much more real shadows offering a noticeable change with the game in motion and offering much more detail when one of the huge bosses casts shadows across the entire game screen. Thanks to Variable Speed Shading (VRS) at large resolutions will allow rendering by zones to offer more detail where needed, leaving with less detail the parts that do not benefit from visual enhancement.

Recall that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was scheduled for this August, but due to the global pandemic it has been delayed and until next November 24 it will not be ready to be able to play the new expansion. By this date we will have available the new Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards and we can take advantage of all these new compatible features.
