AMD's technical director is promising more Radeon cards this year

The information that AMD’s technical director is promising more Radeon cards this year is only a confirmation of all leaks and evasive announcements regarding the GPU offer from The reds.

However, it is always something, because nowadays it is difficult to be sure of anything that will not be written on paper. This time, Mark Papermaster (I love that name) gave an interview to The Street, in which he revealed that the Radeon brand portfolio will expand later this year. For us, it means more or less that AMD is preparing new graphics cards, and although we are not sure whether it will bet on the “brothers” of the presented Radeon VII, or whether it will decide to use the Navi architecture, we can be sure that it will be wasted in using 7nm TSMC process:

We’re really excited to kick off the high-end segment with our 7nm Radeon VII […] and you will see announcements during this year as we refresh our Radeon program. Mark Papermaster said

Addressing the issue of “starting with the high-end segment” may also indicate that the next models will be intended for the budget and mid-price segment. So we should expect competitive positions for the GeForce RTX 2060 and the (likely) GTX 1150.
