An interdepartmental commission will be created in Russia to support new technologies and blockchain

The Russian organization Digital Economy approved the plan to create a special commission that will select projects in the field of new “end-to-end” technologies and blockchain.

It is reported that the commission will not only select candidates for state support, but also accept reports on the work performed, as well as approve the lists of grant recipients. Director for Digital Technologies, autonomous non-profit organization Digital Economy Sergey Nakvasin said:

“It is planned that the commission will include representatives of departments involved in the implementation of roadmaps for end-to-end technologies (the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Industry and Trade), leading technology companies in Russia and the Digital Economy organization. “The approval of the commission’s position and its composition by the members of the presidium of the government commission on digital development is expected until October 2019, after which the selection of the first projects on end-to-end technologies will begin.”

The list of “end-to-end” digital technologies includes nine areas: blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data technologies, wireless communications, virtual and augmented reality, as well as quart technologies, the industrial Internet, robotics and sensors, neurotechnologies and new production technologies.

Note that in Russia the law on digital assets has not yet been adopted. Recently, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the Ministry of Finance and the State Duma to adopt a law on the regulation of crypto assets by November 1, 2019.
