Android 7.0 Nougat Update: NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1

The Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 is still one of the best gaming tablets on the market, at least while we wait for the Nintendo Switch. Today we will learn how to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update on your gaming tablet.

NVIDIA tablet owners are finally getting the improvements they’ve been waiting for, along with Doze power saving mode, improved notification bar and split-screen features for multitasking. For fans of social networking, the update brings new emojis and, of course, productivity improvements. NVIDIA also includes updated support for Shield controllers as well as the December security patch.

We do not expect newer security patches, they will probably come a little later. The last big update for this tablet came last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and it also caused some Wi-Fi issues, so hopefully nothing like this happens this time. As a reminder, this gaming tablet comes with a Tegra K1 quad-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, and a 5MP auto focus camera.
