Apple Watch saved another life

Apple Watch users can get a notification when something bad is happening to their heart. It was thanks to this that it was possible to save 24-year-old Mike Love.

The heart usually beats 60 beats per minute. While the boy was asleep, the watch detected a frequency of 130-140 beats per minute. Luckily, Mike didn’t ignore it and went to the doctor. Thanks to this, a hole was found in his heart that had been present there from birth. Moreover, his upper right lung was donating blood to the right atrium instead of the left one. This made it impossible for the blood to reach the rest of the body.

The open-heart surgery was performed using the DaVinci robot (yes, we also have one in Poland). This reduced the recovery time from 12 weeks to 3 weeks. Mike is home now and says he will never be parted of without an Apple Watch.
