Aztec Launches Ethereum Privacy Protocol

The startup Aztec announced the launch of its private network on the blockchain Ethereum. Based on the Zcash cryptocurrency model, it can bring more confidentiality to the transactions.

On his blog, the managing director ofAztec, Thomas Walton-Pococksaid the network Aztec was now "live" on the blockchain Ethereum.

With Aztec, you can now integrate ZKDai in your Dapp thanks to our SDK, ”he added.

ZKDai is a transaction DAI using ZKSnarks, or zero-disclosure evidence, which hides the sender, the recipient or the amount of a transaction.

While the Aztec network currently only supports transactions zkDai, Walton clarified that other Ethereum-based tokens will soon be compatible.

The confidentiality protocol developed by the young shoot is based on Aztec Crypto Engine, an Ethereum smart contract validator and Privacy SDK, which allows developers to easily integrate the solution into their applications.

Our privacy network acts as a shield between you and the rest of the world – dapps, counterparties and all the other observers on the network, ”concluded Walton.

Two years ago, the Ethereum studio ConsenSys led a funding round of $ 2.1 million for Aztec.

The British startup is not the first entity to offer a layer of confidentiality for Ethereum. In 2018, the consulting firm EY threw a ZKP solution for the second cryptocurrency on the market in terms of market capitalization.
