Beyond Earth with Radeon R9 290, 290X and 295X2

After Nvidia’s launch of performance – oriented Maxwell in the Geforce GTX 970 and 980, many enthusiasts are waiting for AMD’s counterattack, but by all accounts, one may be delayed until the spring of next year. Instead, the company faces Nvidia with price reductions and is now taking up the fight against the rival’s latest game package.

One of this fall’s big game releases is Civilization: Beyond Earth, which comes with several optimizations for AMD-based graphics cards, including the application interface (API) Mantle. As one of the most important game titles for AMD this year, it is perhaps not surprising that it is now starting to be bundled with selected graphics cards.

Anyone who acquires a Radeon R9 290, 290X or 295X2 can get the latest major title signed by Sid Meier at no extra cost. At the same time, AMD emphasizes the game’s ability to use large amounts of video memory and therefore believes that the new Radeon R9 290X with 8 GB GDDR5 is a suitable candidate for the campaign.

The promotion runs until February 28 next year and only applies to participating retailers. It is worth mentioning that the graphics cards are also eligible for the previous Never Settle: Space Edition campaign.
