Singapore’s Crypto Bitrue Exchange suffered a hack major, being stolen 9.3 million XRP and 2.5 million cardano (ADA) from his online wallet. Stolen funds total about $ 4.7 million, but users will be rewarded for losses.

The Exchange said the attacker first exploited a vulnerability that allowed him access to the accounts of 90 users. Later, he used a similar system to access the online wallet of the platform.

According to Bitrue, the attack was quickly detected and hacker activity was blocked. Other platforms such as Huobi, Bittrex and ChangeNOW froze account transactions used by the hacker.

The official statement assures users that their “personal funds are insured” and that all those affected by this attack will be replaced as soon as possible. The Exchange also works with the authorities to investigate the attack.

Kakao’s Asian giant Klaytn blockbuster, officially released

South Korean Kikao Messenger Gigant announced the official release of Klaytn blockhain. It is managed by Ground Earth X and aims at mass adoption of blockchain services and “substantiating the value and utility of technology.”

The network has been in beta testing since October last year. Ground Earth X raised over 90 million dollars in a private offer of coins in March 2018.

Nine projects are already active on Klaytn – such as HintChain, a food market and Antube, a video entertainment service.

The network’s governing council includes 19 major companies, such as LG, the pharmaceutical company Celltrion and Union Bank.

Another Indian exchange closes

The cripto Koinex exchange announced that it is closing its operations, noting the lack of bank support and regulatory uncertainty in India.

Over the past few months, several Indian platforms have been suspended for the same reasons. These include Coindelta, Coinome and Zebpay.

In April 2018, the Indian Reserve Central Bank (RBI) banned banks from serving currency exchanges and cripto companies. Since then, several platforms have filed legal petitions to cancel the RBI ban. They are working in the supreme court in India, and the next hearing is scheduled in July.
