Block.one Introduces EOSIO Protocol Version 2.0

The EOS blockchain developer company introduced the EOSIO protocol version 2.0, which should provide network performance, security and provide new development tools.

In an official announcement, the developers emphasized that they redesigned the WebAssembly engine (WASM) and created the EOS VM, which is much faster and more reliable than the previous solution.

The preliminary rc1 version of the EOSIO 2.0 protocol is already available for download. Users can use the software to work in test networks or even on small nodes of the main EOS network.

“I hope that there will not be any special problems and rc1 will become the final version, and it is mega-fast!”, – wrote
Block.one Technical Director Daniel Larimer on Twitter.

In addition to the new EOS VM engine, developers introduced the EOSIO Quickstart Web IDE, an application development system for creating smart contracts and decentralized applications. You can configure it in a few minutes and use it through any browser.
