Brazilian city of São Paulo will use blockchain for public works

The authorities of the Brazilian city of São Paulo plan to use the blockchain for their public works projects.

The São Paulo Municipal Secretariat for Urban Infrastructure and Work hired Construtivo to implement a blockchain solution for City Hall. The authorities decided to implement the blockchain after they had to close several bridges and roads, despite large investments in construction. As the president of Construtivo, Marcus Granadeiro, noted, the blockchain platform will simplify access to design data for all interested parties.

“It is imperative that data on construction projects be available online to decision makers. Project management can be carried out in real time from anywhere in the world, ”said Marcus Granadeiro.

He also said that the use of the blockchain for public works projects will allow the city to determine the source of any problems even years after the completion of the project, as the technology ensures the immutability of all recorded information.
