Cellar cooling for hot hours: not everyday water cooling from our community | construction diary
What do you need for such an unusual project? Actually, it’s not that much as long as it’s the pure water cooling parts. These are normal off-the-shelf components. The most important and unfortunately also the most expensive component is of course your own house with a cool basement. That will probably be the exclusion criterion for many. But watching is expressly allowed. Our community member Youngtimer was kind enough to help us out with the house, invested time and his pictures, so that I can show you the whole thing today. The idea for this project came from a new FTTH house connection and new network cables had to be laid in the house anyway. So why not drill a few bigger holes and lower the water cooling? Waste heat and noise from fans and pumps should be moved from the office to the cellar, which is cool all year round.
