“Cinematic” testat i Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077, the game that won the battle for readers’ favor in SweClocker’s vote for this year’s game, has suffered its fair share of controversy. Despite many bugs, the game offered one of the more interesting graphical experiences last year.

Away on Nexus Mods, the user andwhat112 has found what he thinks is a hidden quality mode. Activating it is no harder than adding the text line “-qualityLevel = Cinematic_RTX” to the game’s shortcut. This is said to improve ambient occlusion, lighting and level of detail.

According to the user, this Cinematic RTX mode requires approximately 2 GB of extra video memory and costs 6-20 percent more performance than the maximum graphics settings the game title normally allows. This is based on tests with a Geforce RTX 3090 in the resolution 3,440 × 1,440.

The goal of today’s test will simply be to figure out what the Cinematic mode actually does. We delve into how the graphics mode affects the use of video memory, what it looks like and above all how it all performs.
