Content displayed on iPhone visible only with special glasses? A strange Apple patent

An intriguing patent filed by Apple has been filed with the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office). We learn from it about a special privacy feature, thanks to which the content displayed on the iPhone screen would be visible only to people wearing special glasses.

There are many privacy features, but none can prevent prying eyes from behind your back. Apple, however, has an idea …

Once upon a time, even after launching the Incognito mode in the browser, we were informed that this function did not protect against people who could look at the screen of a monitor, laptop or smartphone from behind our backs. While it is not such a problem in homes, it is rather easy to see how a household member sneaks into the room, so in a public place it is difficult to catch curious people peeking at our smartphone. How to protect yourself from it? Apple seems to have a way of doing this.

As reported by the 9To5Mac website, a new patent filed by the company with an apple in the logo was discovered. The documents describe a special system that includes “privacy glasses” for reading what is displayed on the iPhone screen. Without them, it would not be possible to see what is on the display. Interestingly, such glasses would also have vision correction functions.

It’s quite an interesting idea that will definitely allow you to stay private, even in the most crowded places. But is it a functional solution? Of course, for now, this is only a patent that may not be realized at all. However, we will keep up to date with the news and let you know.
