CPU Intel Core i9-12900K destroza a todos en 3DMark Time Spy

And we continue to receive gaming and synthetic benchmarks of the yet to be released Intel Core i9-12900K Alder Lake CPU.

The first benchmarks come from HXL, which has been actively evaluating this Intel Core i9-12900K CPU for a while and now the leaker has provided several benchmarks with a Radeon RX 6600.

The test platform has a ASRock Z690 Steel Legend motherboard with ZADAK DDR5-3866 memories.

The Intel Core i9-12900K Alder Lake-S CPU has 16 cores and 24 threads. That is organized into 8 P-Core (with 16 threads) and 8 E-Core (with 8 threads). The CPU has 30MB of L3 cache that is partitioned into 3MB per core on the P-Core (Golden Cove) and 3MB per cluster on the E-Core (Gracemont). That’s 8 P-Cores per 24 MB of the P-Cores and 6 MB of the two clusters that comprise 4 E-Cores each. There is also 1.25MB of L2 cache for a total of 12.5MB across the entire chip.

Regarding speeds, it is expected that the Intel Core i9-12900K has 3.2 GHz and turbo reaches 5.3 GHz for a single core. Boost frequencies for all cores are expected to be 5.0 GHz. Higher speeds will be achieved only when TVB (Thermal Velocity Boost) has been activated, so normal speeds may be slightly lower.

In terms of performance, the leaker first shows the synthetic performance of the Intel Core i9-12900K in the 3DMark Time Spy and Fire Strike benchmarks.

In terms of gaming benchmarks, the only comparative performance benchmark was made on Forza Horizon 4. The Intel Core i9-12900K scored 193 FPS at 1080p on Windows 11, AMD’s Ryzen 9 5950X scored 189 FPS with the same configuration but in Windows 10. Testing with Windows 10 is perfect, since the AMD Ryzen have performance problems in Windows 11.

The Intel Core i9-12900K in Rainbow Six Siege, got 252 FPS at 1080p and in Shadow of The Tomb Raider, it got 112 FPS at 1080p. Unfortunately, the leaker did not provide any comparison in these playtests.
