Crypterium sent about 4,000 prepaid debit cards to its customers in a week

Crypterium cryptocurrency payment company for the first week sent about 4,000 prepaid debit cards to its customers.

The Finnish company Crypterium, which is headed by the former executive director of Visa, on June 12 presented to the world community a prepaid debit card supporting BTC, ETH, LTC, USDC and its own token CRPT.

The card works on the same principle as the traditional prepaid card, but at the same time allows making payments on the Internet and in a number of stores, including Amazon and Netflix, using cryptocurrencies. Users can pay tuition or pay off medical bills, as well as withdraw money from an ATM – the cryptocurrency is simply converted into local currency at the time of the transaction.

In the first week, Crypterium sent 3,736 cards to approximately 70 countries. Representatives of the company noted that this is a good indicator, which is due to the current rise in prices on the cryptocurrency market and, accordingly, increased interest in this ecosystem.

The leader in the number of applications for a debit card is the United States. There is also increased demand in the Asia-Pacific region – Austria ranks third in the number of orders. In addition, there is significant demand in countries with weak national currencies and volatile economies.

Former Visa CEO Stephen Parker (Steven Parker) noted that the above figures indicate that there is global demand for a debit card that provides the same payment status for both digital and traditional currencies.
