Crypto and blockchain entrepreneurs on the Hurun Global Rich List

This week the report “Hurun Global Rich List”, a ranking of the richest individuals, was published. According to this list, 346 new billionaires appeared last year, and the ranking also includes six crypto and blockchain entrepreneurs.

Compared to last year, the number of crypto billionaires has dropped from 13 to just six. For example, Bitmain’s Jihan Wu was one of those not nominated this year. Instead, Bitmain co-founder Zhan Ketuan appears on the list.

The founder of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), is the richest crypto billionaire, according to the Hurun list. The 42-year-old CZ was last year valued at $ 1.3 billion, and this year reached $ 2.6 billion.

The second richest crypto investor is Bitmain co-founder Zhan Ketuan, who would have $ 1.6 billion. Last year’s Hurun report estimated it at $ 2.7 billion, which means that Ketuan fell by $ 1.1 billion.

Okex executive Xu Mingxing is next in the top with about $ 1.4 billion. Hu Lin’s Li Lin has $ 1.1 billion, and Coinbase co-founder Brian Armstrong has reached this year’s list with $ 1 billion.

Hurun Global Rich List shows that in 2020 there is a record number of billionaires worldwide – 2,816. Most are located in China and the US, with 1,425 individual billionaires in total.

The richest man in the world

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has kept the richest man in the world for the third year running. Bezos has $ 140 billion, but lost $ 7 billion last year.

His ex-wife, Mackenzie Bezos, also entered the list after the divorce, with a fortune of $ 44 billion.

Other notable personalities on this year’s Huran list include Warren Buffett. He recently told the media that he “does not own a cryptocurrency” even though Justin Sun gave him Bitcoin and TRX as a gift at the multi-media meeting. Buffet, however, preferred to hand over the respective wallet to the Glide Foundation, which organized the auction won by Sun.

US Presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg has risen seven positions among the top billionaires to 13th. Bloomberg has recently approached cryptocurrencies in its funding proposal and wants strict regulations imposed on the industry.
