At the Asia Blockchain Summit in Taipei, there will be a debate on Cryptomonas involving Arthur Hayes and Nouriel Roubini. The event will run on July 3 and was dubbed “The Cryptomonas Duel”.
Debate on cryptomonas – Crypto skeptic versus a crypto-enthusiast
Arthur Hayes is BitMEX CEO and a popular personality in the crypto community. Economist Nouriel Roubini, known as “Dr. Doom, “remarked in its anti-cryptomonade position.
Roubini became famous after predicting the economic crisis of 2008. Since then, he has noted his negative attitude towards cryptomonas.
He has frequently published skeptical statements about the future of cryptomonas in a global economy.
In November 2018, when the Bitcoin price collapsed, Roubini claimed that the BTC / USD pair would be close to 0. Since then, even if Bitcoin has returned above $ 9,000, the economist has not shown signs of reassessing his position.
Roubini versus stable cryptomonas
More recently, Roubini attacked stable cryptomonas, described as “an oxymoron, since most are unstable and not totally based on foreign currency reserves.”
This week he claimed on Twitter that they are “similar to fixed rate or currency boards and will collapse at some point.”

He also took a stand against Libra cryptomonas developed by Facebook. Roubini argued that it was only designed to increase the profits of social media giants. In his opinion, Libra is a “monopoly scam”, as Facebook boasts billions of users spread around the world.
“At a time when Big Tech is under careful legal scrutiny due to serious antitrust concerns and all governments, even the US, want to prevent these monopolies, Facebook wants to become the Fed Global monopoly without even a bank license . What a ridiculous situation! “

But Arthur Hayes is optimistic about the outcome of the Roubini debate. The BitMEX Crypto Exchange CEO is very confident in his ability to defend cryptomones. In fact, he claimed on Twitter that “I’ll wipe it off with him (Roubini)”. The message seems to have been deleted.
The debate is announced to be interesting considering Roubini’s tendency to become extremely vocal in discussions. A debate on the similar cryptomonas between economist and Tone Vays analyst at BlockShow last year proved this.
