Digital Asset raises $ 20M from Samsung and Salesforce

Two tech giants have invested in the blockchain business Digital asset.

When extending its Series C funding round, Digital asset collected $ 20 million additional, raising funds raised by the company to $ 142.5 million.

The operation was supported by the venture capital branches of Salesforce and Samsung, Salesforce Ventures and Samsung Venture Investment Corp, who join previous investors like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Accenture.

Founded in 2014 in New York, Digital asset helps companies to more easily develop decentralized applications, thanks to DAML, its open source smart contract language launched last year.

Digital asset also said that Susan Hauser, ex-manager at Microsoft, had joined the company's board of directors.

The American firm will use the funds raised to accelerate the adoption of its programming language DAML and to finance the development of new products.
