Dole Food wants to increase the use of the IBM Food Trust blockchain

Dole Food Company, one of the world's largest producers of fruits and vegetables, plans to deploy tracking solutions blockchain to all of its sectors by 2025.

As more and more companies in the food industry, Dole Food Company believes that the blockchain allows to bring a enhanced traceability to the supply chains.

The American multinational has taken advantage of this new technology since 2017 after joining the program Food Trust giant IBM.

In his latest report The Dole Way, she asserts in particular that the blockchain reduces the average time required to investigate Food Safety from several weeks to a few seconds.

Dole has set up the blockchain in its supply chain for fresh salads and vegetables, and by early 2019 the data was already shared with some retail customers. There are plans to use the technology for other Dole products in the near future, ”she wrote.

The company also aims to deploy the blockchain to all its subsidiaries from here 2025.
