Download and install Lineage OS 18 on Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 (Android 11)

Before starting with this procedure, I highly recommend that you create a backup of your device memory and all your files stored on your device. Also, it is recommended that you follow the steps mentioned in this post very carefully to avoid permanent damage or block your device. Prerequisites

• First, create a full backup of your device. This is because the data partition that will format your device will be deleted.
• Next, you will need to unlock the bootloader on your device. If you haven’t done so yet, refer to our guide on how to unlock Bootloader on Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
• Once done, you must also have TWRP Recovery installed. You can refer to our guide on how to install official TWRP recovery on Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
• Also, enable USB debugging on your device so that it is recognized by your PC in ADB mode.
• Then, download, download and install the Android SDK Platform Tool on your PC. This will provide you with the necessary binary files.
• Also, download and install Xiaomi / Redmi USB Drivers on your PC.

Instructions to install Lineage OS 18 on Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

1. Transfer the downloaded ROM and GApps file to the internal memory of your device.
2. Now connect your phone to the PC via USB cable. Make sure USB debugging is enabled.
3. Go to the platform-tools folder on your PC, type CMD in the address and press Enter. This will launch the Command Prompt window.
4. Run the following command in the CMD window to boot your device via TWRP Recovery

   adb reboot recovery

5. Now that your device is booted via TWRP, go to the Wipe section and tap Advanced Wipe.
6. Then, select the System, Vendor, Data and Cache partition and swipe right to format the selected partitions.
7. Next, go to the Install section of TWRP. Navigate to the downloaded LineageOS 18 ZIP file, select it and swipe right to install it.
8. The process may take a few minutes. When the installation is complete, go back to the Install section and this time select the GApps package. Swipe right to install this file as well.
9. Similarly, you should also wipe the cache partition. You can use the Wipe Cache button which you will only be able to see after installing the GApps. If not, go to Wipe, select the cache partition and swipe right to clear it.
10. You can now reboot the device with the newly installed operating system. For this, go to Reboot and select System.
