The Israeli company Steadicopter, which has been in existence since 2015, has decided to create its unique electric helicopter without a cabin. Until now, it only offered a helicopter powered by a combustion gasoline engine, but now it has decided to convert its Black Eagle – because we are talking about this helicopter – into a fully emission-free variant.
Stedicopter has unveiled the Black Eagle electric helicopter, a special version of its flagship
Steadicopter helicopters have changed significantly in the ongoing military and civil service over the years, but have been somewhat forgotten by the increasingly popular quadcopter drones. However, the company now hopes that the electric Black Eagle will provide it with additional contracts and new customers. In her efforts, she swapped the internal combustion engine for two electric equivalents, which drastically reduced the weight of the helicopter without affecting its capabilities.

We are talking about many hours of flying possibilities and a wide range of data acquisition in accordance with intelligence and observation operations, targeting and reconnaissance both in the daylight and in the dark. Each Black Eagle consists of a ground control system (GCS), a flight control computer, a mission computer, and an integrated communication system. It is able to operate not only in a wide temperature range, but also at high altitudes and in difficult sea conditions.

The electric version of the Black Eagle is available in two weight classes – 25 kg and 50 kg, although the weight of the helicopter itself is almost 18 kg. By shedding the fuel, the remaining payload (2 and 12 kg respectively) can be used to carry a wide variety of loads, while the range itself is approximately one and two hours after a full charge.
