Eric Schmidt, former Google CEO, is no longer in Alphabet

Eric Schmidt, the one who ferried in the first decade of 2000 Google from Silicon Valley startups to a dominant company in the web sector, he left any position related to Alphabet, the company established in 2015 that owns Google as well as investing in various startups all over the world.

Schmidt's exit, who has held the role of technology advisor in Alphabet with a symbolic annual salary of 1 dollar, it would go back to February. Schmidt had been named Google CEO in 2001 and in the years to come he had transformed the company, opening it from web search to the world of mobile and video.

In late 2019 ago Larry Page is Sergey Brin, the two founders of Google, have announced their intention to return their positions to Alphabet, putting everything back in the hands of Sundar Pichai who at that time was Google's CEO since October 2015. Now it is Pichai who rules as A.D. the two companies, a career that began in 2004 with its entry into Google.

The actual departure of Schmidt, who since 2011 had renounced the role of CEO assuming that of executive president and who for 3 years now has been working only as external director in Aplhabet, is perhaps the end of a path of change and internal reorganization very deep carried out by Google over the past few years and started in 2015, precisely with the establishment of Alphabet.
