Europeans start booking hotels in Turkey to get through the winter

MOSCOW, 19 Sep — PRIME. Against the backdrop of the energy crisis, Europeans have become more likely to book rooms in Turkish hotels for the winter period, A Haber TV channel reports.

Experts told how Europe will live through the winter and 2023 without gas from Russia
According to the data, the number of bookings for November increased by 1.5 times compared to the same month last year.
Europeans whose bills have risen more than 10 times and who have been urged to ‘shower together’ amid the ‘gas crisis’ will flock to Turkey’s hotels to spend the winter.
According to Ferhan Ademhan, board member of the Anatolian Association of Tour Operators, this situation will have a positive impact on the Turkish economy, since the influx of tourists will help reduce unemployment in the country and improve the well-being of citizens.

The Turkish Ministry of Energy assessed the sufficiency of gas reserves to pass the winter
Western countries have imposed unprecedented sanctions against Russia in connection with a special operation in Ukraine. Some of the measures also affect the energy sector. This led to the aggravation of the energy crisis in Europe, the region was faced with a shortage of fuel and rising prices for it.
Last week, the European Commission published recommendations for overcoming the energy crisis. Thus, the agency proposes to reduce the demand for electricity during peak hours by at least 5% and withdraw excess profits from energy companies. At the same time, there is no talk of limiting prices for Russian gas in the release.
