Fewer Geforce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti in the future

The one-year anniversary of Nvidia’s graphics architecture “Ampere” for the consumer side is approaching, but that the supply since the launch day has been meager and the prices high has hardly escaped anyone. Despite price tags far above the target price, most graphics card models immediately leave store shelves. In Nvidia’s camp, the Geforce RTX 3060 and the sibling RTX 3060 Ti are currently the RTX 3000 series’ simplest dedicated graphics cards.

For these cards, too, availability or price has not been something to cheer about, but now there is talk that the situation for accessibility will get worse. It is the Chinese technology site IT Home that has heard via industry sources that third-party manufacturers will receive at least 50 percent fewer graphics processors of the Geforce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti type. The reduction is expected to last until at least the end of September.

In addition, Videocardz reports that their sources believe that third-party manufacturers expect smaller deliveries regardless of graphics card type. The reason is said to be that local Covid-19 outbreaks are forcing some Chinese factories to reduce production capacity. According to Videocardz, however, it is unclear whether the situation is isolated to certain production lines, or whether the problem is more widespread.

It remains to be seen whether the restricted deliveries will make a clear impression in Swedish stores, but it can be added that this is not the first time the Geforce RTX 3060 Ti will be extra unavailable. The cards share the GA104 circuit with more powerful RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti, and in June SweClockers reported that the card had not been delivered to dealers for several months. Probably waiting another month without refills.

Are you waiting for a mid-range card at a reasonable price and which can actually be bought, or have you found an alternative way to solve it?
