Fictitious prices and lack of access to graphics cards

It’s Friday my acquaintances and that means a new video with “Friday” in the title. Not “panel” this week but “focus”. And the focus today is on the graphics circuit manufacturers and their tours around the pricing and availability of their products.

It has been unusually messy with the circuit manufacturers’ behavior at product launches in recent times. Shortly after the launch of the Geforce RTX 3080, the undersigned took the “pen” and wrote a column on the subject “What does a graphics card really cost”. Of course, AMD should not be worse and the topic became relevant again with the launch of the Radeon RX 6800.

Watch the full video to follow the reasoning and keep in mind, just as we say, that we are not looking to blackmail any company more than anything else for this type of behavior. They are both equally good cabbage drinkers, in their own way, even if their behaviors are not identical.

How do you think we should handle tests and reviews at launches in the future and do you think the circuit manufacturers’ foul play is here to stay?
