Former American presidential candidate Ron Paul holds annual poll: 60% chooses bitcoin

Former American presidential candidate Ron Paul holds annual poll

Suppose a rich person would give you $ 10,000, what would you do with it? The only rule is that you have to fix this for ten years. Ron Paul asked this question on Twitter via a poll. Bitcoin still receives by far the most votes.

Secure for ten years

Ron Paul is a former congressman from Texas, and was twice a presidential candidate for the Republican party. In his poll you can choose from four options: US government bonds with a ten-year term, Federal Reserve Notes (paper dollars), gold and bitcoin.

A wealthy person gifts you $ 10,000. You get to choose in which form you’ll accept the gift.

But there is a catch: You must keep the gift in the form that you choose for 10 years without touching it.

In which form would you accept the gift?

It may be that the percentages now look different, but at the time of writing, the Federal Reserve Notes enjoyed by far the least confidence. The dollar only received 2% of the votes. The government bonds have received 7% of the votes.

Then there is the battle between gold and the new digital gold. The public is more confident in bitcoin with 58% than in gold with 33%. At this moment 65,428 twitterers have cast their votes and the poll is still open for 6 hours.

Although the survey is not closed yet, bitcoin seems to be winning the poll. In that respect, the sequel is even more exciting. What will Ron Paul do with this result?

Not the first time

Also interesting is that this is not the first time Ron Paul asked this question. Last year on November 15, he asked his followers the same question, with the same answer options. Bitcoin then also came out as the winner. And that is striking, because the day before November 15 the bitcoin course dropped considerably.

Ron Paul already has bitcoin

On October 28, Bobby Lee announced that he had given bitcoin to Ron Paul. Lee is a board member of the Bitcoin Foundation and founder of startup Ballet Crypto.

Lee combined gold and bitcoin to give a nice birthday gift to Paul. The former presidential candidate received a golden bitcoin wallet made by Ballet Crypto. The wallet is similar to a credit card, the password of the wallet is hidden under a scratch layer.

Forgot to mention, I also gave Dr. @RonPaul his first #Bitcoin, loaded into a nice @BalletCrypto gold-plated REAL Bitcoin wallet.

It was a special serial number AA000820 to match his birthday! And he loves the #Gold color. ? https://t.co/B1iQQKFYNq pic.twitter.com/L8eEStvG2A

Paul is an outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve (US central bank). He is known for his advocacy for gold. In July, Paul commented that he is an advocate of cryptocurrencys such as bitcoin and blockchain technology because he believes in competition.
