Founder of fraudulent cryptocurrency company Komodore64 arrested in the Netherlands

The Dutch police announced the arrest of the founder of the cryptocurrency startup Komodore64, which received $ 86 million from investors and then filed for bankruptcy.

The creator of the company, which was supposed to develop a gaming platform where in-game transactions are recorded on the blockchain, deceived not only investors, but also its own employees. In June, the K64 token was launched, the sale of which, together with preliminary investments amounted to $ 86 million. Shortly after the sale of tokens, Komodore64 declared bankruptcy.

The founder of the startup cheated on investors, saying that the “large venture company” (we are talking about Goldman Sachs) has already made investments in the company. However, he even hired a group of people who portrayed a delegation from Goldman Sachs in front of Komodore64 employees.

The police were able to arrest the founder of the startup at the hotel, where he was hiding from “dissatisfied cryptocurrency investors.”

Currently, cryptocurrency companies in the Netherlands are not regulated, but the country’s Central Bank will begin to supervise them from January 10, 2020. Perhaps this will force some foreign companies to leave the Dutch market.
