Full HD at 27 inches - that's the dedication to the fastest monitor in the world

It seems that the Chinese company BOE has created the wet dream of every esports player as we have finally created the fastest monitor in the world. The 360 or even 144 Hz refresh times are apparently gone for good as this monitor is refreshed at 500 Hz, but with some trade-offs.

The 500-Hz BOE monitor is currently a prototype for demonstration purposes, but it was made, and that’s what matters most

A 500-Hz monitor panel for gamers means that in each subsequent second the image will not consist of the standard 60, but the entire 500 frames per second. You will learn the meaning of this, e.g. in my previous article FPS vs Hz. We explain the differences in frames per second and screen refresh. Unfortunately, 500-Hz did not blow on the stick and therefore, despite the use of innovative technology of solid-state oxide displays, BOE had to accept only Full HD resolutions, which will significantly affect the quality with a 27-inch matrix.

However, 500 Hz is still 500 Hz, which ensures not only extremely high fluidity, which was not considered at all a few years ago, but also low delays. Not only because the panel has a 1-ms delay, but also because of the beneficial effect of more Hz on the input lag. On the smoothness side of the picture, the problem starts with squeezing out those 500 FPS in modern games. While this is not a problem in esports titles with high-end graphics cards, even in those of the AA class it becomes a huge challenge.
