1 Choosing Between GTX 1060 and GTX 1070

Video cards will be compared using Ethash (Ethereum, Ethereum classic) and Equihash (Zcash, Zcash classic) algorithms. Now they are the most popular among the miners, and these cryptocurrencies grow very well in price.

We will choose between the Geforce GTX 1060 and Geforce GTX 1070 cards. I want to note right away that, just like in the case of the Radeon, the darling does not mean the best. Looking ahead, I will say that the best results were shown by the Radeon RX470 and Geforce GTX 1060. Well, Geforce GTX 1060 turned out to be the most practical mining card in terms of price / hashrate.

I also draw your attention to the fact that the Geforce GTX 1070 has a 8-pin power connector, thus it must be taken into account when buying a power supply. And this may already be additional costs, which later will have to be recaptured.

Once again, I note the fact that all video cards were tested in the stock (standard, not overclocked) state, since flashing and overclocking the cards immediately removes your warranty on them.

I want to note the sharp price difference between the GTX 1060 and GTX 1070. If the first is around 13,000 rubles, the second is already worth more than 20,000-22,000. At Radeon, this difference was about 3,000 rubles. It’s possible to pay for this difference in games, but not in mining.

As you can see, the hash price on the Equihash algorithm (considered the most profitable mining algorithm for the moment) is the lowest in the GF1060. The price of Radeon RX470 is 62.5 rubles, but on the Ethash algorithm, the price will be more interesting on the Radeon RX470. In light of the last price increase in the price of Ether – this can be very relevant.
