GeForce GTX 660 SE: Overview| Specs| Testing | GPU Boost mode 1006 MHz | Is It Good For Gaming?– Is it Good for Gaming? $180″– The market has already introduced many models of this generation (GeForce 6xx and Radeon HD 7xxx), but there are still gaps in the lines of both AMD and NVIDIA. They are located in approximately the same price categories. AMD does not have a video accelerator that would take an intermediate position between the HD 7850 and HD 7770 models (the difference in performance and price is very large), NVIDIA also has a gap between the GTX 660 Ti and GTX 650 video cards. AMD recently introduced a new video card – Tahiti LE, which will fill this gap, NVIDIA also decided to take this category. This is what the video card called GeForce GTX 660 SE was designed for.

GTX 660 | A Good Low-Cost Choice?

Taking a look at the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 graphics card that released back in 2012. Nowadays it can be readily found for 30-40$ on the used market, but is it worth the price for someone looking for a budget GPU? Today I’ll test 14 popular games on it to find out

The novelty is based on the GK106 GPU and has 768 CUDA cores. 24 raster units, 64 texture operations units, 192-bit bus. In terms of performance, the graphics card is more comparable to the GTX 660 than the GTX 650 Ti. The core of the novelty from NVIDIA operates at a frequency equal to 928 MHz (and in GPU Boost mode 1006 MHz), the memory operates at a frequency of 5600 MHz. The owners of the sample have already managed to conduct several tests, the results of which can be found below.

In addition to testing in 3DMark 2011, the video card was tested in three games. Even though the titles of the games are in Chinese, one can guess that they are Crysis 2 and Metro 2033. The name of the third game is unknown.

The novelty was presented at the end of January, and it costs approximately $180, which will make it a direct competitor to AMD’s video accelerator, the Radeon HD 7850.
