Geforce GTX 680 priced at Dutch dealers

The new year has begun with a host of new graphics cards from AMD in the Radeon HD 7000 series, but on March 22, it’s Nvidia’s turn to take the step to 28 nanometers with the flagship Geforce GTX 680. According to rumors, the green team may well take back the leader jersey and the title of the world’s fastest graphics processor.

German Computer Base discovers that the Dutch retailer Factoryprices can not keep its fingers crossed but publishes price information for a Geforce GTX 680 from Zotac. The graphics card costs a full 510.58 EUR (without tax), which can be translated to approximately 5,660 Swedish kronor including VAT.

This price may be the highest, but since the Geforce GTX 680 is expected to perform better than the Radeon HD 7970, which currently costs around SEK 4,500, it is not an unreasonable assumption that Nvidia will take the opportunity to charge a few kroner extra.

The Geforce GTX 680 is based on the GK104 graphics processor with 1,536 CUDA cores, 256-bit memory bus and 2 GB of GDDR5 memory. The clock frequencies amount to over 1 GHz GPU and a full 6 GHz memory, while the TDP value is expected to stay at an unusually low 195 W. Sales start on March 22.
