Geforce GTX 780 Ti is priced at the same level as GTX 780

The launch of the Radeon 200 series began with older graphics chips in a new form. In a few days, however, it’s time for the new graphics processor Hawaii and the flagship Radeon R9 290X, which will meet the Geforce GTX 780 and GTX Titan in the highest performance class, among other things.

Nvidia does not intend to sit still in the boat but counters with the Geforce GTX 780 Ti, a new graphics card based on the GK110 graphics processor. The details are not yet known, but now sources to SweClockers state that the pricing will be a direct response to the Radeon R9 290X.

The Geforce GTX 780 Ti occupies the same price point as today’s Geforce GTX 780. At the same time, the GTX 780 will fall in price to meet the upcoming Radeon R9 290 “Hawaii Pro”. Nvidia is also expected to adjust pricing for other models in the Geforce 700 series, but it is still unclear which graphics cards will be affected.

Exactly how this affects the pricing of Swedish retailers is all the more difficult to predict. The Geforce GTX 780 was introduced at a price of SEK 5,995, but is now available for a little over SEK 5,000. The recommended price, on the other hand, is approximately SEK 5,495 including VAT.

It is thus conceivable that the Geforce GTX 780 Ti will cost around SEK 5,500, while the GTX 780 will end up at SEK 4,600 including VAT, depending on the model and design. The Geforce GTX 780 Ti will be released in mid-November, while the Radeon R9 290X will be on sale towards the end of the week.
