GeForce RTX 3060: Hashrate|CPU| Testing|Specs – After the announcement at CES 2021, Nvidia he has confirmed the date of the debut of the GeForce RTX 3060: the February 25. Contrary to previous releases, the card will be on sale from 18:00, while the other models have always landed (so to speak …) in stores at 15:00. Time matters little, we are pretty sure that even this card it will go “sold out” in no time.
In recent weeks we had stressed that the new born would arrive by February 26, no later, and we took it. The GeForce RTX 3060 is the fifth proposal in the family Ampere of Nvidia and comes with a starting price of 329 dollars which, according to the Nvidia website, in Italy become 339 euros (About 90 euros less than the RTX 3060 Ti, speaking of price lists). Unlike the models presented so far, there will not be a Founders Edition, but only the custom proposals of the partners.

At the heart of this model we find the GPU GA106 con 3584 CUDA core, 28 RT core e 112 Tensor core. The GPU operates at 1320/1777 MHz (base / boost), and is flanked by 12 GB of GDDR6 memory at 15 Gbps on 192-bit bus, for a bandwidth of 360 GB / s. The TDP is instead equal to 170W. The RTX 3060 Ti, for comparison, is based on a GA104 GPU with 4864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor cores, 38 RT cores and only has 8 GB of GDDR6 memory at 14 Gbps (448 GB / s). The TDP is set at 200W.
It is the memory, 4 GB more than the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 3070 and even 2 GB more than the RTX 3080, the interesting aspect of this model, both because it could be very useful in terms of longevity and comparison. with AMD’s future mid-range proposals, and because it could lead several people to get confused: we have met several of non-enthusiasts who read the amount of memory thinking that it is the crucial aspect of a product.
The RTX 3060 aims to guarantee high performance in Full HD with high details, ray tracing and DLSS active in modern titles. Nvidia’s chart above highlights how the new product wants to convince GTX 1060 (and earlier) owners to take the leap (availability permitting).
