Geforce RTX 3060 Ti gets cleared specifications

Reports of new graphics hardware from AMD and Nvidia are hailed, where information about the latter company is usually about upgraded models in the Geforce RTX 3000 series. Despite rumors that Nvidia has scrapped or delayed these models, new information continues to find its way onto the web. The latest leak indicates specifications for the not yet unveiled mid-range card Geforce RTX 3060 Ti, an upgraded variant of the RTX 3060 that has not been uncovered yet.

The information comes from the database belonging to the GPU-Z software which allows users to determine the specifications of the graphics hardware. Details of a Geforce RTX 3060 Ti now appear in the database, according to Techpowerup’s editor Matthew Smith notes. According to the post in GPU-Z, the graphics card was validated on October 25, and lists 4,864 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR6 memory over 256-bit memory bus and connection via PCI Express 3.0.

In terms of clock frequencies, these start at 1,410 MHz and reach the boost frequency of 1,665 MHz. Most likely this is about reference speeds, where graphics cards from partner manufacturers are likely to reach higher clock frequencies. The graphics memory operates at 14,000 MHz, which over 256-bit memory bus provides bandwidth of 448 GB / s. The information does not extend to energy consumption or price levels, where the latter may, however, have been revealed by Chinese online retailers.

Twitter user Avery78 notes that Chinese online retailer Taobao lists a Geforce RTX 3060 Ti from Inno3d. The stated price level is 3,000 CNY, corresponding to approximately 450 USD or 4,900 kronor including VAT. However, stated price information in advance tends to be rough estimates, and this price level should therefore be taken with a scoop of salt. The launch is stated to take place on November 30, which in that case would take place one month after the Geforce RTX 3070 goes on sale.

The Geforce RTX 3070 will go on sale on October 29, 2020, and is also said to receive an upgraded Ti model that picks up the GA102 graphics circuit from the big sibling RTX 3080. It remains to be seen if and when this model joins the Geforce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti.
